Accounts? Really? / Early Christmas

Wed Dec 23, 2009, 3:24 PM
BOLTRO IS RUNNING?

I really don't know how I feel right now.
It's the holidays. I just got a bunch of stuff for Christmas. I just finished the academic semester with three As and a B. I should be happy.
But I'm not.

I'm just angered by so many things at the moment. Most of them from when I just logged on and checked my messages.

First of all, moving accounts.
Someone in my watchlist just reported that they are moving accounts for the second time. It just annoys me beyond belief. Why would you move accounts?!
Got too much stuff on your account? Delete some things!
Don't like your character? Make a new one!
Don't like your account name? Well, tough luck 'cause you chose it!
You will be happy to know I'm sure that I will NEVER be moving accounts. Yes, I have a new character on the way, but I don't need to make a whole freakin' new account for him! I know how to take care of my shit, which is more than I can say for the rest of you.
Also, note that from now on if you move accounts I WILL NOT follow you unless you are a very, VERY close friend of mine. I have had enough of account switching.

Secondly, I literally have 1,000 deviations in my inbox.
I have removed a dozen or so people from my watch list as a result of this problem, and it has been for either one or both of these reasons:
1. The only reason I watch you is because of your deviations, and as of now you either post too much or too little.
2. You have made no contact with me for some time now (we're talking months to years), and there is no other reason to keep you on my list.
If you were removed and you want me back as a watcher, then ask me and show that you really care. If not, then farewell to the dozen I have just recently abandoned.
________________________________________ _____________

Now, I'm going to get on the bright side of things and tell you what I got as early Christmas presents.

First off, the game "TMNT Smash-Up" for the Wii.
It's not that great. Honestly, if you have Super Smash Bros. Brawl there's no reason to get this game. It's just a copy of the Nintendo fighter, really.

Second, two music albums. The First is Owl City's "Ocean Eyes", while the other is Dave Matthews Band's "Big Whiskey and the Groo Grux King".

The Owl City album is amazing, plain and simple. Lyrically, just about every one of Adam Young's songs on this album get 5 stars. This man truly is a lyrical genius. The song "Hello Seattle" is a stampede of similes and metaphors in the lyrics, and the song "Cave In" includes binary opposition and brilliant wordplay. If there isn't literary genius in similes and metaphors in his song-writing, then there is beautiful description and spot-on atmospheric setting. And most notably is the fact, besides a few cameos, that all of these songs are done by one person: Adam Young. He wrote the songs, he played the music, and he's brilliant. His sound is playful and energetic in songs such as "The Bird and The Worm" and "Dental Care" ('Dental Care' actually sounds a lot like a Jack's Mannequin song in my opinion), then is slow and powerful in "The Saltwater Room" and "Vanilla Twilight". It's a brilliant album; everyone go pick it up now!

The album's best:
1. "Fireflies"
2. "The Bird And The Worm"
3. "The Saltwater Room"
4. "On The Wing"
5. "Vanilla Twilight"
6. "Dental Care"

The only BAD song on the album: "Meteor Shower"

And as for the Dave Matthews Band album, well I haven't listened to it all the way through yet. I've heard about half, and so far my favorite is still their single "Why I Am", but when I hear the rest I will get back to you.

BOLTRO IS RUNNING 21%.

Things are just not going well.

First off, I'm tired of my girlfriend. Every encounter between us now turns into an argument. I try to break up with her as a result, and she doesn't accept it. I just CAN'T talk to her; everytime it leads up to the same damn thing.

Second, the band has a parade this weekend. Its going to be freakin' forty degrees and under and snowing at that thing, and we have to learn a piece of music but I haven't got the time. I'm struggling to catch up with my work here, and I'm trying to manage my struggling relationship!

And third, WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH ALL THE SURVEYS?!
I've been trying to find a site where I can watch the first ten minutes (WATCH not DOWNLOAD, and TEN MINUTES not THE WHOLE DAMN MOVIE) of "Fantastic Mr. Fox". See, because my Dad and brother had to go to the bathroom we missed the first ten or so minutes of the film when we went to see it at the theaters. I keep finding movie sites, but every time I get on one I HAVE TO TAKE A DAMN SURVEY! It says it's to help keep the sites free or something like that, but HOW DO SPAM SURVEYS KEEP ANYTHING FREE?! And sure I would do them if they would stop asking for my damn personal information!
Does ANYONE know a website where I can watch the first TEN MINUTES of "FANTASTIC MR. FOX" WITHOUT TAKING A DAMN SURVEY?!

SIX. GREAT. MOVIES.

BOLTRO IS RUNNING 90%.

Ah, screw the journal skin.

Well, my dad left this morning and my break is almost over. But, on the bright side, I saw six wonderful films in the theaters. And, I will critique them for you in the order in which I saw them.

1. Disney's A Christmas Carol
To be perfectly honest, the Muppets did better back in the 90s. But, that doesn't mean that this take on the classic story should be passed up. It is an interesting take on the story, for it puts very fascinating twists to the traits of the spirits. The Ghost of Christmas Past is a candle, Christmas Present makes the floor like a television screen, and Christmas Future is symbolically Scrooge's lingering shadow. Many of the scenes were made simply for 3D, but it is still worth a few laughs and its tale will still touch your heart.

2. Pirate Radio
I have to say that this was the worst of the six films I have seen. It sends brilliant messages of freedom and rebellion against uncommon and unecessary law...but then they added sex. That's right, they turned a brilliant idea into another SUPERBAD. It showed positive and wonderful scenes of all the British citizens secretly listening to Radio Rock (name of the station), but then when they got back to the boat it was just broadcasting and sex. It was going in the right direction, but then it took a few perverted U-turns.

3. Where The Wild Things Are
After seeing Pirate Radio, this film gave cinema an innocently clean slate. I can honestly say that it does the book justice and then some. As I stated on myspace, "it is brilliantly simple with its messages, and simply brilliant with its direction and visual appearance". An instant classic, and an instant piece of perfection.
Where The Wild Things Are gets :star::star::star::star::star: out of 5.

4. 2012
I really didn't want to see this movie. I didn't want to fear the end for the next (possibly remaining) three years of my life. But, in truth, I am glad that I saw it. It is visually astonishing and its story sends wonderful messages of what is and isn't humanity. It was brilliantly symbolic in many different situations, and in short just a wonderful spectacle to behold.
2012 gets :star::star::star::star: now, and :star::star::star::star::star: in four years.

5. Old Dogs
DO NOT LISTEN TO WHAT THE CRITICS SAY ABOUT THIS FILM. Half a star my ass! Robin Williams, John Travolta, Seth Green, and Justin Long (four of my favorite actors, I might add) did a wonderful job in delivering this delightful film. I agree that "from the director of Wild Hogs" isn't the best way to advertise this movie, but if you actually give it a try it will be worth your while.
Old Dogs gets :star::star::star: out of 5.

And finally...

6. Fantastic Mr. Fox
This was a fitting end to the wonderful string of movies I had seen. Wonderful unorthodox stop-motion direction, a great cast of voice actors that did a great job, and a wonderful adaptation of a Roald Dahl story. Definately worth seeing, and depending on your tastes a worthy film to obtain on DVD once it is released. I saw it just yesterday and already want to see it again!

BOLTRO IS RUNNING 95%.

So guys, it's Thanksgiving break. And, I'm feeling pretty damn good.
First of all, NO SCHOOL!
Second, a few friends and I went out for some bowling at the local lanes, and it was the most fun I've had in a LONG time.
Third, I got accepted to college at Colorado State University - Pueblo! It's good to know that acceptance isn't top priority any longer, but this week I'll be applying for the hard one: LSU. And time can only tell how that goes.
Fourth, My dad is coming up TOMORROW! I haven't seen him since June, and he's going to stay here for the whole week.

So, in short, this has been one of the greatest weekends of my life.
For once, I am extremely happy, and hopefully I'll stay this way all week.
I'm currently obsessed with my new collection of short stories that I am planning to publish, but I will do the best I can to get some fanfics started up again. Also, my brother and I will continue work on our Garry's Mod collaboration videos, which will be extremely hilarious and entertaining. I know I keep saying the same things and nothing gets done; I sincerely apologize for that.
I appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation.

P.S.:
How the hell do I apply the Ninja Assassin journal skin onto here?
